NG-PCR Machine

Next Generation PCR machine

The latest PCR machine by MBS has been improved in every possible aspect, using MBS Heat transfer technology. These improvements were of such a scale that the inventors named the machine: Next Generation PCR.

The instrument has ramp rates of more than 1000 degrees per second. Go from melting to annealing in less than 0.1 second. Total PCR reaction time is between 2 and 10 minutes.

Benefits of the Next Generation PCR:

  • Speed - PCR in only two minutes; incredible, but true.
  • Throughput - Thanks to the higher speed, far more samples can be processed. If you use 384 well plates, no fewer than 30.000 data points can be created in one working day.
  • Cost - More samples per machine means fewer machines. Fewer machines means lower maintenance costs, less staff and lower investment requirements.
  • Energy - With a power consumption of only 25 watt, the NG-PCR machine can truly be called energy efficient.

Thermal Cycler

The NGPCR is a thermal cycler. Meaning, no more ramping times. In traditional PCR the baths are heated and cooled to the different temperatures. The NGPCR works with 3 different temperature stations. The temperature of the stations can be adjusted to fit your research best.

The thermal cycling method increases efficiency in the lab, as it is the fastest PCR reaction. Additionally, the use  3 different heating stations creates greater consistency.

Saving time with PCR helps on expediting care to cancer patients

One of the most time-consuming components of next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation is polymerase chain reaction (PCR). In our assays, time spent in PCR can sometimes equal or exceed all of the remaining steps of library preparation combined.

Consequently, by drastically reducing the time spent amplifying our genomic regions of interest, we can simultaneously shorten our turnaround time, thereby expediting care to Memorial Healthcare System cancer patients and improving their outcomes.

Essentially eliminating temperature ramping times, Molecular Biology Systems NextGenPCR will allow us to significantly improve turnaround time in all of our PCR-based clinical oncology testing assays, most notably our sequencing panels.

NGPCR COVID Solution

"Last January, our lab Laboratorio di Servicio implemented and validated the MBS’ NextGenPCR solution for CoV2 screening, in Aruba. We found this ultra-fast PCR technology easy to use, sensitive, specific and overall, really ultra-fast, both in throughput as well as time to result. Instead of the 300 tests a day, 1000 results per day were produced with a single NG-PCR system."

Safe tourism in Spain

Mallorca, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Alicante airports are running COVID19 PCR tests with our fast RT-PCR solution: Results in less than 1 hour! It was a pleasure for me to install the NextGenPCR instrument solution at Eurofins Megalab COVID test centers.

NextGenPCR and Biodiveristy

The XPRIZE Rainforest competition promotes the development of innovative approaches to demonstrate the capability and readiness of their technology in a rainforest setting. The main goal is to study biodiversity in 100 hectares of tropical rainforest in 24 hours and produce the most impactful real-time insights within 48 hours to win the competition.

Isogen Life Science has participated together with MBS (NextGenPCR technology creator) and the Belgian company PROTOLABS and its XiniX AI, which creates an all-terrain robot to explore tropical rainforests.
